OK this one made me cry. I know I’m a crier, but really. JJ Virgin saved her son’s life last year, and you MUST hear this interview on what she went through. I always saw JJ as so strong and tough, and after this interview now I realize why she became so strong… for this reason. It saved her, and it saved her family. We can all learn a lot from this.
“We are never better than when we are challenged.” –JJ Virgin
I absolutely love JJ. After becoming her first business coach in 2009 and 2010, we’ve become dear friends, and I even adopted her fat cat Milo. (You’ll have to listen to the interview for more on that!) And then I became a client of hers as well.
Fast forward just three years, and now she’s everywhere! This nutrition and fitness expert is now a NY Times bestselling author of The Virgin Diet and appears regularly on network TV.
I follow JJ’s nutritional advice… her program really works and I highly recommend you get a copy of her book. And her new book, The Virgin Diet Cookbook, comes out on February 18.
During our interview, JJ talked about her remarkable fight to save her son’s life after he was struck by a hit-and-run driver. He suffered a traumatic brain injury and doctors told JJ he would not survive.
But she fought long and hard for him. She did not give up! This is how this gal lives her life! She won’t take no for an answer. She knows she will find the answer. And she did. (You’ll hear about it in our interview.)
I asked JJ to share with our listeners her top 3 success tips. Here they are, in her own words:
Tip #1: Find a coach
JJ says, “Look where you want to be, and don’t hold back either. There is someone there already. Go get them as your coach. That’s what I did with you Ali. I was like, ‘I will have what she’s having!’ It totally works, and then you make the decision and stay in forward motion.”
Tip #2 Don’t give up… ever
JJ says, “You cannot course-correct standing still. So you have got to just keep putting it out there, and it is going to show up for you. And it is always right under your nose. You won’t see it… people around you will ask you about it. Whatever it is they are asking you about, that is the thing.”
Tip #3 Build an awesome team
JJ says, “Build a team from the very beginning. You bring a team in, and start with the things that you hate the most and you suck at. Hire those people. Hire them fast, because it is a total waste of your time to do it on your own.”
Great advice from a great lady. A true Glambition Girl. BTW, her recipe for her favorite breakfast smoothie sounds delish.
